19. Looking for the Tree

The Guide moves forward.

With his eyes, banded.

He’s a Silent Guide.

Silence feels uncomfortable.

It may suit them.

P:”He doesn’t look so large.”

R:”He doesn’t.”

P:”He’s not small.”

R:”No.

Not particularly.

Though it is difficult to say.”

P:”Because he’s not standing straight?”

R:”Perhaps.”

Difficult to say…

He’s more definitive than that.

Soft silence.

Enjoyable silence.

That’s a 1st for me.

Quietness.

Nature’s not silent.

Percussion.

Because the animals walk.

Chants.

Because they talk.

And the trees…

What do they do these trees?

What are they waiting for to take their place in the choir?

I’ve never been attracted to trees.

They don’t look alive.

Passiveness.

Passiveness doesn’t look alive.

These little bells.

Like bells.

Are they fruits?

Are they pending from the branches?

Until they fall.

And then…

Left astray.

R:”You’re bearing a Stone.”

P:”What’s your real question?”

R:”I won’t ask you about its origins.

Or its abilities.”

P:”?”

R:”What does it bring you?”

P:”Why tell me about what you’re not about to ask?”

R:”Truth?”

P:”For a change.”

R:”I’m uncomfortable.”

P:”Deceptive?”

R:”True.”

P:”Doesn’t bring anything.”

R:”Why keep it then?”

P:”…”

R:”You are easy to read.

But I’m not sure I want to know what’s on your mind.”

P:”Alright…”

R:”As long as you keep this device on you…

You only have to fear the Animals.”

He said he wouldn’t ask me about its effects.

Because he knows them.

Not all of them…

The guide walks in front of us.

He guides us.

That’s dumb.

Or just a simple though.

Simple is comforting.

He shakes his hands before his face.

He points forwards.

Then walks back to us.

He taps on my hand.

Looks for an object in his pocket.

He grabs a seed.

And offers it to me.

P:”…”

Guide:”…”

P:”I should learn your language.”

He nods.

R:”The Irony.”

The quietness turns sour.

Noise comes back.

Sweet noise.

The percussion intensifies.

And the bells shake.

In front of us, there’s a Tree.
